PositivelyTonine: Year One Review, Lessons & Next Steps

It’s My Blogiversary!!!!!

Can y’all believe that it has been one full year since I launched positivelytonine.com?  I can and it’s exciting to know that I was able to build something out of nothing and sustain it all on my own for 365 days.

Let’s Look Back

Positivelytonine was created out of my love for writing, my desire to learn all about and share God with others, and my longing for a community of like-minded, well rounded, and funny Christian women that I could connect with weekly, learn from, and possibly teach or encourage in spite of our being stuck indoors.

Here are a few highlights from year one:

May

On May 16, 2020, I published my very first blog post.

I started off writing about how I was able to learn valuable lessons through my classroom experiences.

June

I thought it would be helpful to write educational posts geared towards helping parents with at-home learning.

July

I pitched two education brands ( Learning Farm and Strawbees) for the first time ever and wrote blog posts in exchange for products and services.

I had my niece for the summer, so I’d say that it was totally worth it.

August

I was blessed to see another year and I felt it post worthy given the current state of the world, so I shared my 32nd year.

September-February

The posts were consistently faith, education, lifestyle with a few sprinkles of writing  in varying orders.

March

I published my debut children’s book ” School Supplies for Sale ” and revamped pages on the blog to include the new edition.

Don’t forget to grab your copy.

April- May

The writing continued, but as I neared one year, I started thinking about my brand and my blog as a business. I added ads to the site and I am currently continuing my weekly posts until the end of the school year. I’ll use the summer to learn, make changes and grow.

I still have a ton to learn about partnerships, SEO, newsletters, and growing this community, but I am so excited for the journey.

My Biggest Challenge

I would say that my biggest challenge during this entire process has been getting people to my site. So please subscribe and tell a friend to stop by :).

One year blogiversary huh… I must say I am over the moon proud of you, congratulations, on all of your accomplishments this past year. I’ve learned so much from you, young lady. You’ve shown me what it looks like to take the lord at his word and watch him bring your dreams into a reality.
I think what has kept me revisiting your blog is your love for the lord, faith, and how you helped me see things from a different perspective. For instance, the time you wrote about your experience of being an aunt and your brother getting married and him having a blended family. Then, is when I was able to recognize I had unresolved feelings about my place in my bonus grandchildren’s life and was able to identify I needed time to figure out how to interact with the newness. You helped me realize it’s really okay to breathe, relax, and be okay with going slow with figuring it out, being Binka(grandmother) is a big deal to me, so , I prayed and watched God fix it. You inspire me, to be a better me, Mrs. Jackson, and I am so grateful to witness all the lord is doing in your life.
I can’t wait to see the next chapter. I will be sure to share positivelytonine with others. I’m proud of you…love you 🙃

  4. So excited for you and all that God has in store!! I will def try my best to send people to your site!☺️💕
