God loves to see his creation functioning properly. But truth be told, there is a ton of dysfunction in this world ( insert 2020 for reference). And as a result, we become distracted and disconnected.
Our disconnection then leads to a complete malfunction and eventually the realization that we are missing something.
I’ve come to realize that there are just some things that I must have in my life in order to function well.
Want to know what those things are?

Prayer
Jesus prays. Still, even today. Even though he finished the work on Calvary’s cross. From his seat just right of the Father. He intercedes on our behalf standing as our advocate and permanent propitiation. (Hebrews 7:25)
Understanding God By Reading His Word
It’s one thing to read your Bible, it is another thing entirely to understand it as instruction needed in your current season or as a testimony to encourage you and strengthen your faith for the things to come. Be sure to spend some time in Bible Study.
Repentance
Sin is any immoral act that goes against God’s law. As members of the body and followers of the law, it is necessary that on a daily basis we review our actions honestly, confess our error and ask for forgiveness.
Faith
I was reading this morning and came across a definition of faith made simple. The article read that “ Faith is having a good opinion of God.”
It is our choosing to believe the very best about God and his intentions in our lives no matter our circumstance. Faith is connected to life.
Healing
Healing your past hurts and dealing with trauma is so very important to you being your best self. Doing the work may be difficult, but you do not have to go it alone.
Forgiveness
Our forgiveness towards others should mimic God’s forgiveness towards us. It is true that some offenses are harder to forgive than others, but what helps me is to put it in the King James context. “ Even as God for Christs sake hath forgiven you.” Jesus allowed himself to be hung on a cross for our sins. In doing so God forgave(forgives) us. Forgiveness isn’t a price that we must pay to receive God’s forgiveness. Instead it is an effect. Because God can forgive and we are undeserving, we can.
(Ephesians 4: 32)
Community
The Bible encourages community. God encourages community. Jesus lived in community with the disciples, Mary, Martha, Lazarus and others. Being surrounded and involved with like minded christ focused individuals is good for edifying and holding one another accountable. It is also necessary because we were not created to navigate life alone.
(1 Cor 12:21)
If you don’t take anything else from the post take this:
“ The only way to stay fully powered is to stay connected to the source.”

This week I’m going to commit to working on building and engaging in community. What will you commit to in order to ensure that you are functioning properly?
T.J.
This reminded me that when I am not forgiving, repenting, praying and standing on the promises of christ is when I become disconnected and miss opportunities to rebuild.
This week I commit to:
Staying in the present, serving others in any capacity that I can, and being a grace-giver. Holding others accountable. I will not only hold others feet to the fire but will accept in love my feet being held also. Grace is given to change us not to excuse us period. Gal 6:1-2
I love this commitments. Praying that you do well
Thank you Mrs.Jackson I really needed that 🙏🙏🙏🙏.
